Statesboro High is going to facilitate school-wide athletic physicals for our current 9th-11th grade athletes this year.  The cost is $10 per athlete. The Physical Letter and Consent to Treat Form that explain the process can be found below.  Copies of this information can also be found in the weight room and athletic office.  We encourage all of our athletes to take advantage of this opportunity as the physical will be good for the entire 2017-18 school year.

It is important that all of the required documentation (Medical Consent to Treat Form, Participation Form, Insurance Form, Concussion Form, and History Form (first two pages of the physical)) is turned in by April 24th so that we can effectively schedule these physicals.  All of these forms can be found in the Athletics Office and on the SHS Athletics Website (statesboroathletics.com) under "Forms."

If you have any questions, stop by the athletic office.

On February 28th, students were given a list of their 2017-2018 course requests.  Please note:  THIS IS NOT YOUR CHILD'S SCHEDULE!  If necessary, make any changes to the request directly on the sheet.  Please sign the sheet whether changes were made or not.  Have your child return the sheet to his/her first period teacher, Mrs. Green's office upstairs, Mrs. Beasley's office downstairs, or to Mrs. Bradley in the guidance office.  Schedules for 2017-2018 will be available on Parent Portal the week of July 10th.

We will do our very best to honor requests; however, we reserve the right to make course changes in response to staffing constraints and class size limitations.

If you have any questions, please email your child's counselor.  Thank you!

The University of Georgia will be hosting its annual “Vet School for a Day” program on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the University of Georgia.  This program is designed to give high school students a greater understanding about the career opportunities within the field of veterinary medicine.
The program includes:

  • A Tour of UGA’s Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital
  • Meetings with faculty from different areas within Veterinary Medicine
  • Discussions with current Veterinary Medicine students
  • Lunch with students and faculty
  • Career advice from distinguished alumni

Please forward this information on to any of your high school juniors or seniors who may be interested in Veterinary Medicine or a related field.
