​We Can Help!!!   Statesboro High School will begin to collect canned food items in support of the Food Banks of Statesboro this week.  Students can bring in 1 food can this week and receive a letter of participation that can be used for community involvement.  ONE canned good item Is ALL that is needed, however students are welcome to bring in as many as they would like.  Collection Boxes will be at the concession stands for your donation Tuesday to Friday prior to the beginning of first period.  At the beginning of first period, all volunteers will go to class as normal.

Statesboro High School's Student Government Association will be sponsoring the annual POWDERPUFF football game Tuesday, Nov. 13, 5:30 p.m..  There will be a Freshman vs. Sophomore game and a Junior vs. Senior Game.  Sign ups begin TUESDAY, Oct. 23 and continue until FRIDAY, Oct. 26.  The teams, cheer squad and coaching positions are limited so sign up quickly.  Registration cost. forms, and information are available through the link below or available for pick up in the Media Center.  See Mrs. Altman or your SGA officers if you have questions!

SHS Seniors are invited to a campus visit of Georgia College and State University.  We will be taking 20 seniors to Georgia College and State University for a campus visit.  GCSU is a beautiful University in Milledgeville, Ga (about 2 hours away).  This is a great opportunity to visit a college campus to determine if you may be interested in attending the school.  Use the link above to explore the University.

Patrick Winter, Associate Vice President for Admissions at the University of Georgia, will visit SHS and provide information to students from all area schools who are interested in applying to UGA and learning more about their admissions process.

 

This event will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, beginning at 6:00 pm in the SHS Auditorium.

The football cheerleaders and SGA are excited to be hosting a HOMECOMING DANCE immediately following the game on Friday, September 28th.  The details are below:

  • Tickets are on sale in the media center NOW and at lunch Sept. 25-27th.  Tickets are $5 each through the end of school on Thursday.  The price will increase to $10 on Friday.
  • The dance will be held in the JV Gym
  • Entrance/exit to the dance will ONLY be through the double doors/entrance to the JV Gym hallway
  • Students will not be allowed in other parts of the school during the dance
  • ALL students and their guest must turn in a signed permission form (attached) when purchasing tickets

Youth Leadership Bulloch is an outgrowth of Leadership Bulloch. It is a program designed to identify potential future leaders and to help them develop a network of friends and community leaders, and gain greater insights and a broader knowledge of the issues facing our community. Statesboro High School is hosting Freshman Orientation for the incoming freshman class. This is an opportunity for you, the Class of 2022, and your parents to speak to teachers and get acclimated to campus at a time set aside especially for you.

Statesboro High School, Optim Sports Medicine, and Dr. Robert Wagner are excited to offer Spring Physicals to any SHS athlete who desires to try out for a sport at SHS during the 2018-2019 school year.  The sports physical would be valid for the entire 2018-2019 school year and will cost $10.  As always, SHS student-athletes have the option of using their primary care physician to obtain a physical.

In order to take part in the pre-participation evaluation and physical, the following items must be completed, signed, and turned in by the end of the day Wednesday, April 11th to Ms. Beasley in the athletic office (all available to print HERE/on the SHS Athletics Page Under "MORE" and Forms):

  • Medical Consent to Treat Form
  • Statesboro High School / Optim Athletic Participation Form 2018-2019
  • Statesboro High School Travel / Insurance Form 2018-2019
  • Georgia High School Association Student / Parent Concussion Awareness Form 2018-2019
  • Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation History Form (Front and Back)

The timeline for the pre-participation evaluation and physical is:

  • April 12th to April 20th  – Pre-Participation Evaluations conducted during students’ PE (or other elective) class
